She’s bright, warm, and always welcoming. She was a summer baby and lives somewhere where it’s warm year-round. She has a tasteful collection of resort wear and her go-to cocktail is an aperol spritz. She carries a mahj mat in her white lexus at all times. She knows how to park a boat and drive a stick, but will never brag about either. Knows her way around Nantucket.

Like a pair of gold hoops, she is timeless and chic. She could be 35 or 55, we aren’t really sure. You can catch her sipping crispy white wine at a beachside happy hour. All of the hardware in her home is unlacquered brass- aged to perfection. She’s very well-read, but on her kindle of course; she is a modern woman after all.

She was a music major and studied abroad in college. She loves a good disco or throwback 70’s tune. Her house is perfectly imperfect; her wardrobe: bohemian. You complement her outfit and she says “oh, this old thing? it’s thrifted!” She’s effortlessly cool today, yesterday, and always. She’s wistful and nostalgic; always in her feelings and we love her for it. She drinks red wine or brown liquor; dark and moody just like her.

We all have that one friend. She actually books the reservation when she says she will (thank goodness!). She gets things done in the group chat and in real life. If the waiter is taking too long or the food is off, she isn’t afraid to speak up. She’s probably in a boardroom somewhere or running her own business, or both. You never have to guess how she’s feeling, because she can tell you in a clear and concise way and she loves deeply and loyally. The older I get, the more I want to be like her. She may come off a little prickly to a stranger, but to know her is to love her. P.S. She’ll have a martini. Extra dirty. Three olives. Please.

Homegrown
Homegrown is a meditation on patience, care, and the intimate rhythms that shape family life. Working from photographs taken in my own backyard and the local farmer’s market, I translated the textures and colors of ripening fruit and tender vegetables into layered still lifes that hold memory and ritual. Each painting is a portrait of waiting — the small, everyday labors of tending a garden that echo the work of motherhood and household care. Through careful mark-making and layered surfaces, I invite you to slow down and witness the slow unveiling of life, season by season.
